Is it best practice to upgrade Android using CodeWorks for Android 1R4 vs Android sdk manager?

I understand that CodeWorks for Android 1R4 is for installation but should it also be used for updates in place of the Android Sdk Manager?

I haven’t read anywhere to use it for updates, but I noticed that when I execute the program, it lists the components that need action and those that do not. Previously, I was using the android manager but now I have feeling that the Nvidia CodeWorks for Android Component Manager would be best for updates? Is this best practice for updates?

I was told to use 1r1 aND always install from codeworks

The ue4 android startup page says to use 1R4.

I think 1R1 is dated back to ue4.2. I understand it’s for install, but looking to find out if I should also use for updates?

I would advise using NVIDIA CodeWorks for Android Component Manager: CodeWorks for Android 1R4u2. You can locate CodeWorks here:

  • Binary - EngineInstallLocation\Unreal Engine[EngineVersion]\Engine\Extras\Android
  • GitHub - EngineSyncLocation\UE4\Engine\Extras\Android

Thanks!

Thanks, I’ll use it for my updates. Good to know!

You’re welcome, let me know if you have any further questions.
