I’m working on a file I started a while ago, and need to lower the sections per component aspect of the landscape I’ve created. Started from a depth map, added Quixel sand texture and painted some topography details so the ground is looking cool, but it’s crashing when I try to add the water plugin, and I want to try reducing the sections per component so I don’t have to start from scratch on the landscape.
I’m still pretty new and haven’t been able to figure it out, and not finding an answer here or google/youtube searching- anyone know how/if this is possible to do?
Hey there @TheClearMedia! Welcome back to the community! I don’t believe there is a method to adjust the sections after creation, however you should be able export the height map, create a new landscape with the corrected parameters, then import the height map. I’d back your project up safely and give that a shot! Hope this helps!
You can however delete landscape components… and generate wierd geometry that will actually break most engine built in systems…
So probably try not to even try to delete components!
As MH mentioned, definitely avoid tinkering with the landscape components themselves outside of the native functions, as there’s underlying tech like the landscape brushes that could severely break your project. Good recommendation that I didn’t think to address!
