Is anyone able to get Maya objects into Twinmotion with correct orientation?

No matter the export or import settings on both FBX from Maya into Twinmotion, all my objects import 90 degrees sideways. No amount of changing the options fixes this, does anyone else experience the same behaviour?

Hello ,

Thank you for posting in the community and sorry to hear about the troubles. I believe there is a setting in Maya to change the up axis from Y to Z or vis versa. You may want to check that setting and see if that makes the difference. https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/maya-ideas/y-up-z-up-maya-preferences/idi-p/8570794

Hope this helps and let us know if that worked.

Kind regards,

Vincent B.

Thanks, I suspect it may be something to do with Maya's native FBX export.

Using PolyTrans' FBX exporter (from within Maya) I was able to use this option (Y to Z)- the assets came into Twinmotion with correct orientation.

Using the native Maya FBX exporter, I just didn't seem to get it to work (Y to Z) so was wondering if anyone else noticed this?

Hey

Here's the issue that is happening;

Export FBX from Maya with Y Up

Import into Twinmotion with Y Up

Object now appears 90 degrees

When moving, it appears to be upside down

2022-05-26 16_06_12-TwinmotionNo matter the settings with Twinmotion or Maya (z up or y up any combo), it never works.
