what do you mean by “invisible”? does the editor respond to inputs besides say opening a new window?
if you look on the taskbar is the Editor still showing up? when the Editor opens a window in Windows the Operating System recognizes it as a window instance, so it should be accessible from the taskbar. It is possible that you are somehow minimizing the Editor, again the Taskbar should allow you to focus back on the Editor.
