I plan to spend a LOT of time this summer refining our performance capture workflow.
Looks like we now have LiveLink Hub, Switchboard and in 5.6 a “Capture Manager” as available solutions for this.
To me, Switchboard’s key value is in being python customizable, so we can trigger Vicon, Optitrack, LiveLink Face and even make some custom code to capture reference video on our ATEM ISO, all with matched slate/take file names at the touch of one button.
LiveLink Hub seems to have the unified record button, but does it have the extensibility for users to add custom devices like BMD Hyperdeck and/or ATME ISO recorders? Does Live Link Hub integrate with Switchboard?
How does Capture manager fit into this? It looks like it facilitates a workflow where performers, characters, production(s), sessions, slates, etc can be predefined (as well as a “stage” blueprint) for capture in engine? Does this integrate with Switchboard? LL Hub?
Does one of these options cover all the functionality for control and capture of mulitple systems including ones added by users?
