Instant swimmable water switch troubles

hi , in the above marketplace template there is switches that cycle water levels and affect water in other ways. my character reacts with the switch (it changes blue and says press “E”. but he cannot activate the switches. even in the template overview it says " E " is for “interact”. but in the template project settings / input , there is no input set up for “E / interact” , and there is none on the player character either… it seems it is tied into a switch event in the switch blueprint. but I cannot figure how his character will interact with the switch when pressing E, but mine will not. in the switch bp (in switch root) , this is how the nodes for it are.

Anyone know how this kind of setup works? I added an "E / interact " input in my project but it don’t help. I mean it is odd to me that there is no input for it set up in the original template. but it still works.

actually I just figured out that I was missing the spline point setup. like in the video , when you click on the water , a small white square pops up at the top, you move it from position to position where you want water level to change to. then it works. I don’t think there is any input (E) setup needed, I mean , as long as you have an “E” / interact input in project settings.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- at first I had to change the water and switch capsule components collision settings to match my character collision settings so he would react to the water and switches. for the swim up and down setting I just copied and pasted that section of nodes from his starter character into my character.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I just missed that spline setup part.
