installing engine plugins to a source build

I am trying to install some plugins from the market place for 4.20 into a source build of the engine I moved the files all over to the source built engine. However I am still receiving errors stating that the referenced source directory does not exist? it is the socket.io plugin i am trying to get into the source built engine.

Anyone know how to get plugins for the engine moved over? thank you for your time :slight_smile:

you can put plugins in the project folder, and make a folder called plugins, as this will let it show up in that projects plugins selector, and not others, this isn’t a fix just a doable patch.

Assuming you’ve put the plugins in the correct folder (make a Plugins folder in the root folder of your project or engine), you will have to generate project files after you’ve done this. Usually they aren’t noticed before you do that first.

If this doesn’t help you, what might help us help you is a screenshot or a copy/paste of your compiler output (maybe it tells you what folder it’s expecting it to be in).

It is this error specifically I do not know how to get it to go away I have built the whole engine from source again, generated project files, and the plugin is in C:\Users\akrol\Desktop\Ue420\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace\socketio

it is a source built engine I place them in C:\Users\akrol\Desktop\Ue420\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace\socketio
