Hello,
I have exactly the same problem but the issue is already above all logical understanding. I installed according to the instructions the version available for Apple that is 4.2 from the startup Epic application. Installation to an external drive, which I have the size of 8TB (free was 7TB - Tera Bytes to be sure!).
And now attention, the process after many hours ended with an error because there is no more space. I checked what happens after returning from work because I noticed that it would take a long time. 6TB of free space disappeared from the disk, 1TB was left and still nothing can be done. According to the installation progress, it’s only 70%. What is the issue here? Really it took already 6 Tera Bytes?!
I want to continue education and programming in this engine, but as it looks like this forgive me, but it makes no sense at all. What can I do? How to install this version correctly without complications if it is ever possible? After all, I have a really big, modern, new and really nice working disk! I didn’t have Unreal installed before, and just to be sure, I removed all the junk from both drives - internal and external.
Installation configuration: MacBook Pro M1 8GB (8/8 cores) / Mac OS Sonoma 14.6.1 / internal 512GB / external 8TB.
Please help me if possible. My last bastion is Unity which I stared year ago but as I know now Unreal is really amazing and want to focus on it now.
Regards
Dawid
