same as topic, installation issue, more easily import/export pak/uasset to editor, Extract/Repack using UnrealPak.exe; content viewer free plugin to view multiple pak/uasset files, without use FModel/UModel/repack.
just make thing more easier bcz i just want to making mods:
- UnrealPak.exe, for me first this can’t use though powershell (only cmd), second i want to repack a whole folder but it display “No files found”, is that easy to use???;
- basic function such like content viewer (plugin) and import/export pak should always available and easy download for newbie just like me. many times windows smartscreen warning me unknown source about unreal tools i downloaded, but i can’t just shut it down bcz personal reason;
- follow this docs Working with Cooked Content in the Unreal Engine | Unreal Engine 5.3 Documentation, can see cooked uasset files in editor now, and now i know most uasset file in market has price, that’s the reason why cooked content can’t edit or use (cooked content alway have uexp file, and can use hex editor to change uexp file content); but that’s not the main problem im facing, most mod website require open source which mean i must can use it even content are already cooked, ubulk just bulk data file, the main price should be inside the uasset file, i want it can support re-cook;
- i know I don’t know much about Unreal Engine, but who design that installation interface? default install Editor (V5.3.1) will took Base 37.55GB + Other Components 26.94GB, but Epic Launcher engine installation interface ARE TRASH, yes that’s my opinion: “Installation Options” near to “Path” display and only show “options”? excuse me that’s the “Path Options” or the “Installation Options”? just compare with Unity Engine Editor installation interface and u will see the huge different!
