For the Twinmotion for Education version, all versions of Twinmotion from Twinmotion 2020 to 2023 should be available for download for any account with a Twinmotion educational license. If the student workstations are single-user machines, each student can obtain an educational license by visiting the Twinmotion Licensing and Pricing page, then selecting the Educational license card to self-affirm that they are a student, which will grant an educational license which they can then download from the Launcher.
If the student workstations are share computers, or if Twinmotion is being installed by administrators, we recommend following the Twinmotion Installation for Schools guide.
If the Epic Games Launcher cannot be used, please submit an EDU offline installer form with the details of your institutions installation needs.
Thanks for the tip. Most of my students managed to properly download the software.
I have a few new questions if I may ask them here on this conversation :
A student working with Twinmotion from Rhino is having trouble with materials that fuse together when imported in Twinmotion. With both direct link and the datasmith exporter, imported with "collapse by material" selected, some separate Rhino materials are fused into one. Do you know what we might be missing ?
We are working on Twinmotion EDU 2022.2.3. Some students working from Archicad 26 realised that no plugin version existed linking it this version of TM. Is an archived version of the plugin available for this particular setup ?
For the Rhino materials issue, this sounds like it may be a bug specifically with the collapse by material option. Potentially switching to the Keep Hierarchy option may be a sufficient workaround. If you or the students being affected by the issue could please submit a bug report here and include the original Rhino model and a copy of the Twinmotion file where the issues occurs, that would be very helpful in letting us understand what may be causing the issue and helping us find a fix. For the Twinmotion file, please be sure to package it using the Resource Collector in Twinmotion's Edit menu (Edit menu > Resource Collector > Compress files) so that the material data is preserved when sharing the file.
Our apologies for the confusion regarding the Archicad 26 plugin. The Twinmotion Datasmith Exporter plugin for Archicad mistakenly listed the 5.0.3 version in the Archived section as not being compatible with Archicad 26, but this was incorrect. For Archicad 26 and Twinmotion 2022.2.3, the 5.0.3 version of the plugin will work.
