i did try to use UDK, but UE4 environment is much better and intuitive, all i need from UDK is a low end users ability to play and simple export of the same game to UE4 for others. i think this is possible to create some kind of UE3 engine to install it with regular launcher.
Hello OeAi,
Can you try to explain what you’re trying to do? I can tell it involves UDK or UE3 but I’m not sure what you’re trying to accomplish.
Hello Matthew, in short i want to create game using UE4 or at least with latest IDE and build it using UE3, so it wasn’t getting too much of resources,
The first thing that comes to mind is building in UDK engine first and then prepare it for UE4, but UDK IDE need more time to learn and in fact we know difference between UE3 and UE4, so this can be a kind of script, that will downgrade or upgrade the code. And if i had ability to install UE3 engine in latest IDE, then those scripts could simply convert the code from one version to another, maybe sync code and so on.
Unfortunately we won’t be able to help you with this here. UE4 isn’t meant to be backwards compatible to UE3 and we also do not provide UE3 support on the Answerhub. There may be communities outside of our support channels that have done this previously but I’m not sure about that.
Have a nice day!
