I hope I have the correct place to post this question. This is my second attempt.
I used the launcher to download and install latest version of UE v5.51 for the first time on my Mac. The download and verification completed without trouble but in the process of installation I received the following popup from my Intego AV:
Using the repair functionality restarts the installation process and the popup returns again and again until the launcher sends me this message:
The knowledge base only addresses this error on a Windows PC and suggests that a conversion of my file system to NTFS is the solution. However, a search of the forum for problems with APFS file system indicates that the use of the APFS file system is usually the solution for issues. I think in my case, changing my native APFS file structure is not needed or advisable, particularly with the obvious interaction of my AV software. My feeling is that my AV software is not wrong but since I have no more trustworthy source than the UE launcher to download the UE itself, I’m stuck. Can anyone help?
