Brand-new Epic account (created 4 Oct 2026, Google sign-in), Windows 11 Pro 64-bit, Epic Games Launcher 20.3.4.
What happens
- Unreal Engine > Library: the Engine Versions section is completely empty.
- The yellow + and the Install Engine button do nothing when clicked. No error, no download.
- Twinmotion, RealityScan and Fab tabs load fine.
Launcher log (EpicGamesLauncher.log), every start, latest 5 Oct 2026:
LogCommunityPortalAppManager: EoshState = WaitingForBuildsAndItemFiles
LogCommunityPortalAppManager: LoadItemFiles: Loaded 0 item files in 0.0 secs
CustomLabelPublisher: Entitlements changed. Custom label access: False.
LogCommunityPortalOSS: Display: ...found 0 entitled apps
EoshState never moves on from WaitingForBuildsAndItemFiles.
Already tried (none helped)
- Restarting the launcher and PC several times
- Running the launcher as administrator
- Settings > Hide Game Library on/off (the fix from this thread), then straight to the + button
- Switching between Library and Unreal Engine tabs / refreshing the library
- Deleting the webcache folders
- Reinstalling via EpicInstaller-18.12.1.msi (it self-updated straight back to 20.x)
- Accepting the UE EULA, filling in account details
- A different IP via VPN
- Epic Support live chat (5 Oct) passed me on to the developer channels
It looks like the Unreal Engine entitlement simply isn’t attached to this account. Could someone from Epic check it, or has anyone found a way past this on a new account?
Thanks.
