Inside Unreal: 4.26 Water and Volumetrics Preview

Get a peek at the upcoming experimental Water tools releasing in UE 4.26! Ryan Brucks will start with a breakdown of the new Single Layer Water shading model and then show how Water Bodies create cohesive water features. We will then go over new features such as Gerstner Waves, Fluid Simulator, Caustics generator and how they can be connected together. And if there’s time we will take a quick look at some Volumetric Cloud Flowmap experiments.

theres no such a video… by following link and clicking on video “Inside Unreal: 4.26 Water and Volumetrics Preview” I get some stupid lowpoly Walled Up game Lets play or it’s preview

When will 4.26 get water actors, blueprints and materials? Unfortunately, they are not in the preliminary version.Also frustrated by the fact that you can not use multiple graphics cards for the mass of light (at least I did not manage to do it, although the API directX 12 allows you to use multiple graphics cards not in SLI mode, as well as Nvidia).

Where are the water actors? They aren’t anywhere in the 4.26 preview. Is there any docs on how to enable it, even if that means building from source?

It looks that is not included in the current preview.

Yes, Ryan said that the water system is a plugin. I checked every plugins but there’s no water plugin (except old “shallow water” plugin not related to this new water system"

I literally just finished developing my water shader yesterday AAAAAAAA. But amazing you’re making it easier for newer devs to get started into developing these kinds of shaders. Wish I’d seen this before starting on it.

This is the best and most useful feature given to us after virtual textures. Also amazing cheap fluid simulation. Kudos to Unreal Engine team!

There lying to you I downloaded 4.26 no water found something needs to be don about this.

i’ve been needing this again for a long time. UE4 really needs this feature back.
