Ok. I created a post before, but it was under a legacy tag and I don’t know what that means, so I’m reposting it. I am an American high schooler Indie Game Developer working on my first game. I have had experience with Unreal Engine, as in I have been playing around with it for about 3 years with little success. I have a lot more conviction now and I’m really starting to understand it, so I have officially decided to make my first game. I started this by myself a couple of days ago and my friend has now joined me to help out. The original idea was Minecraft, but realistic and with more fantasy RPG elements to make it even better, at least in my eyes. However, I started having second thoughts and was wondering about a more standard fantasy rpg more akin to the witcher or Elden Ring. My friend said that he liked the second idea more because A) it would be significantly easier than learning how to make a procedurally generating world and B) he really likes narrative games and quests. I was wondering if anyone here had any opinions about which one or any tips on making this game. Also, if anyone is actually interested, I’ll add some updates and screenshots of my progress. The hope is that I can get far enough with this to get some volunteers, make a kickstarter, establish this group as an actual studio, and get real employees, which has been a childhood dream of mine. So basically, any and all help, suggestions, support, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
