Let me start by saying I love UE4!
However, after recently upgrading from 4.2.1 to 4.6.1 I noticed a substantial increase in time it takes for most actions to complete using UE4. This includes loading the project browser, loading the editor and saving/applying materials. Perhaps this has been covered elsewhere, but I haven’t been able to find any detailing my exact issues it.
Is this normal behavior? I can live with the increased times but wanted to make sure if this is normal/expected behavior before I take any further action. If you need more information I would glad to provide it
I have attached an image of a spreadsheet to show how the load times changed for each different version. It appears that with versions after 4.3.3 the time to complete each action has increased significantly
My PC specs, for reference:
CPU : Intel i7-3930K
SSD : Crucial 128 GB (have about 30 GB of free storage space with engine installed)
GPU : Sapphire Radeon 7970 (AMD)
MOBO : Asus P9X79 Deluxe
RAM : 16 GB
OS : Windows 7 Professional
