In Game Editor (with move/rotate/scale tools)

Hi guys,
I’m new to Unreal Engine coming from Unity3D and i’m trying to achieve an in game editor.
The editor should be pretty much the same has UE editor. We should be able to select an object (the mesh can be different depending of the object), then if selected, the 3 axis gizmo appears and you can drag the object along the chosen axis.
Right now, i implemented :

  • A movable actor
  • “Selectable” interface
  • 3 axis gizmo (actor)

I have already create the selection mechanic using level blueprint’s. My movable actors implements a “Selectable” interface and make the 3 axis guizmo appears.

I can’t really figure out how to use the gizmo actor to move my movable object. And i’m not sure about my architecture (actors or interfaces defined) ^^
Any advices are welcome !

Thanks a lot !

Look for plugins on the marketplace and it’ll save you a lot of time and headache. There’s a few level editing assets that are free, either in the plugin category or blueprints. None of them will be like the UE editor. Not in-game.

We’d need to see your code for the 3-axis gizmo to appear to really know how to advise you to allow it to move objects.
