Every time we have to make our own verse device, the whole editor stops being UX-friendly and it all feels very janky:
- Verse editables desync live edit. Normal devices don’t do that, so why do Verse ones?
- Changing ANYTHING on a verse device desyncs live edit, again why can’t we have supported verse actions so we don’t have to wait 5 mins per edit?
- Adding anything to indexes feels janky, you can only add something by scrolling to the top and pressing the + button, then you have to scroll back down to an arbitrary number that is not numerated from 1 but from 0 confusing you because all others numerations in UEFN start from 1, then you have to open up the index, lose the position in UI because it expands weirdly, scroll and find it again, then assign an editable or something, close it, then forget what index does what because there is no way to name them (even in the editor only, for helping us avoid human error it would be nice to give editor names to them)
- Verse links cannot be tracked back to the source. If you link an editable and forget that verse device location, you can’t find it from the editable.
- You cannot visualize things in UEFN when adding the animation controller, verse should support code for visualization of the object when animated, shown in the editor, so programmers can code it in a way that helps level designers see what they are doing rather than experiment, wait 5 mins, and hope things work. This will save a lot of time and help fix device bugs as well.
