Importing terrain as a mesh/model

I’ve been building a large map area (about 10km) and wanted to have a play around in it within Unreal, but having problems importing it as a very large mesh.

Ideally I would be able to import it and set it to have a mesh based collision or convert the terrain mesh plane into a terrain, any advice or hint tips?

The model is made in blender and exported as fbx.

The problem is getting an accurate collision mesh for the high poly terrain mesh.

I would recommend yo to render a raw16 heightmap out of the mesh in blender, because then you can easily import it with the landscape tool

Could you explain how can i do it in Blender (render the raw16 heightmap)? I’m doing it saving the rendered image as a png.
(I’ve followed this tut: ?v=EnrrsVzkqnc which does what is explained here ://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.4/Tutorials/Textures/Maps/Creating_a_Heightmap_from_a_Plane)

Thanks!
