Importing skeletal mesh

So im importing my first very own skeletal mesh to ue4 and i got a 2 part question with an image the first one is this

can i import my texture in diffrent parts like this instead of one big chunk? cause for me its easy to edit a texture like this in gimp and also is it gonna make the game needs a bigger space cause bare in my mind each texture that i imported i created it 2048 x 2048 and the second question is this
is it normal for the texture to look like this cause its looks kinda weird and also im using no normal map or diffuse and bump and specular im using only the real texture so is it normal to look like that?

I’m pretty green but I would ask did you make a material and set your texture to that and apply the material to your mesh?

what do you mean by pretty green yes i did in blender but the thing i ask is this allright to make it like this the textures specified for diffrent parts of the gun

If you want to break up your texture for finer definition you will need to UV map it better. Lets say that you intend to have the stock wood while the barrel & sight iron. Obviously they will have different material qualities. So you will UV map the stock by itself then UV map the barrel & iron sights with the ammo clip a third UV and the main stock of the gun as its fourth UV.

Also “green” is a term for “new and unskilled.” He was saying he is still new and unskilled.

yes i did that but if you see it from the first picture every part has diffrent texture and this allows me to edit them better and easily but my question is it gonna make them game need bigger space in hardisk cause each texture i created it with 2048 x 2048 resolution in blender
