I’m new to modelling and Unreal in general. I’m trying to import a model from 3dsMax. I created a skeleton in 3dsMax but when I import it into Unreal I get layers of the model instead of the skeletal structure. I’m sure this is an easy problem but I couldnt make it work. Please give me some tips.
Since you’ve mentioned you are a beginner, I suggest checking out these two links from Autodesk: (One discusses importing animations into 3DSMax vs exporting but addresses “layers” specifically.)
You can also export the Mannequin skeletal mesh as an fbx file from UE4 and import that into 3DSMax to examine the proper set up.
