Importing pistol from 3ds max to unreal

hello there are 2 issues that are really confusing me. i created a pistol in 3ds max with the animation and all but when i export it as a fbx and imported it in unreal the model is all in parts (this is the first thing)

and it has only imported 1 animation which is the shell ejection animation so all other animations are missing (this is the second thing)

i know i have done something wrong and cant find any tutorials about this.
so my question is how do i import the model as 1 object and how do i import all animations from the fbx file.

sorry if my question is confusing.

i just figured out what i did wrong i didnt link the objects together in 3ds max after i fixed that the port was successful
