Importing my character from maya, wont smooth, textures are completely messed up HELP!

Hi there I’m having a terrible time with UE4 at the moment.

I’ve been creating a custom character in Maya for use within UE4. I’ve encountered a few issues. At first my character had a basic topology (wasn’t smoothed) I believed UE4 would smooth my character for me, i was wrong. however when importing my character everything went smoothly. I was even able to import an FBX animation and get this working with the mesh so I thought great this should be easy. I went back into maya smoothed the mesh, repeated steps with the animation rigging toolset creating skin weight etc. Now when I build my control rig for animating The arms and hands of my character are completely warped and I have no solution for this. Also when importing my character mesh and skeleton to Ue4 all of the textures are now jumbled up and it seems to ignore the skin weights I assigned to it. After all this the mesh isnt even smooth!! what the hell is happening I have deadlines!!!

Right now I have no clue as to what to do so please any help will be appreciated. I’ll include screenshots of what is happening. Please feel free to ask for anything else!
