I’m wondering if this is also a bug that has gone unnoticed or if there’s a good reason. It fails when I import monochrome tga files. If I go into photoshop, and set mode to rgb and rexport, then it imports successfully.
It may be a technical reason. It may be that 3d hardware requires 8+ bit. However I noticed 8bit sound files won’t import either. I have to update them to 16 bit in audacity.
I’ve been able to load tga files in my own engine using DevIL just fine that were monochrome.
I’d think Unreal can just convert it anyway when you import if this is a reason on mobile or something.
