Importing FBX to include Media Files

Hi,

When I import an FBX that was created from Max, it seems to load the textures, but anything associated with the FBX geometry becomes very slow. For example saving changes to the geometry has to update the textures and it takes awhile to do this. Manaully linking materials and textures doesn’t seem to have this problem. Is anyone having this problem or am I doing something wrong? Basically how common is it to have it automatically include the media information when importing the FBX?

I don’t usually embed the media files in the FBX, that way it’s easier to just change the texture file itself instead of having to exporting the FBX file again.
