Hi. In my search for an equivalent to Lumion for Mac, I found Twinmotion. It looks very promising, but so far I have had no luck with importing our own products. I tried importing .dae files (from my hard drive), and they are imported, but doesn't display when placed in the scene. The file works in Lumion, so I know the file is working. Just not in Twinmotion.
I imported a .dae file I had saved on my computer (as I'm not the person working in Solidworks and don't have direct access to the program). Is this the problem? Will .dae only work if imported directly from Solidworks?
If so - is there any file type that I could import without it being directly from a program?
Twinmotion does support importing .dae files, and you shouldn't need to have direct access to the design programs the files were generated from to import models - the only time you need the design program is when using the Direct Link functionality of a Datasmith plugin.
Sometimes, settings get corrupted and cause issues. Following the steps in the Twinmotion is not visible after splash screen may resolve the issue. If that doesn't help, please submit a bug report here and share a copy of the affected .dae file and your Twinmotion.log file (Where to find Twinmotion .log file) after attempting to import the .dae file so our support team can investigate this.
