Importing Characters from other 3D Products like DAZ3D or Poser

As you probably already guessed by the title of my thread, my main question (as a novice) is:

Can I utilize and import characters and their meshes from DAZ3D? I have DAZ Studio 4.9. If so, how would I go about doing this?

Thanks all for taking the time to read and reply…this tremendously helps me out. I’m in the process of developing a 3D Animated presentation of a piece of software to Microsoft HoloLens, to demonstrate what this piece of software will look like utilizing “mixed reality” in the application. The idea is way ahead of the curve, but my savvy on how to carry it out is unfortunately not up to speed, yet.

Anyway, it would be nice if I could use some of the characters I have already made within DAZ 4.9.

Sure, why not? I think there is a way to export fbx in DAZ. Only thing that will be difficult is that the mesh has several materials, and you will have to set them all in same manner. I don’t have installed DAZ or Poser at the moment, but I don’t see any problem with exporting from it.
The second thing probably will be lack of normal maps. But you can always convert grayscaled bump maps in Crazy Bump, or Pixplant or Knald or whatever.

Good luck.
