Importing animations removes base rotation

When I download and import an animation from Mixamo, Unreal doesn’t import the transforms on the root or base bone. So everything animates correctly, except the character looks suspended. For example, if I import a crouching animation, the character’s legs will pull up into the hips making the mesh hover, instead of pulling the hips down. I’m not sure why this isn’t importing, or what settings to change.

Try this tool: Mixamo Converter

This kind of works, but it doesn’t allow for custom skeletons.

Its an incompatible system.

One works using the Pelvis as the root.
Unreal works using an acrual root bone.

Best bet is to edit the animations in blender to
A) add the proper root bone and
B) adjust the crouching to translate the pelvis down as needed.
