Importing an asset that uses helpers instead of bones.

Hello. I have a question and I hope someone would be able to help me with this. I recently purchased an asset which uses something called Helpers in 3ds max and does not have any visible bones. I need to import this into unreal and set up animations and interactions for the steering wheels and the tyres. Is there any solution to import this rig in unreal or to convert these helpers into bones? I do apologise if this is something rudimentary because I’ve never come across something like this. Thank you!
