Importing a changed mesh of a existing skeleton

I have a skeleton in unreal already that I want to carry on using, and in Maya I have the skeleton bound to a mesh with all it’s skin weights done. I need to now change the mesh and import it back into unreal, but unreal doesn’t like it as it’s look at the skeleton as a new skeleton instead of the existing one already on unreal.

This means I can’t connect the new mesh to the old skeleton in any way, any idea of how I can do this?
