Imported mesh is not generating complex collision

I imported a high poly, slightly deformed plane from houdini (fbx) into UE4. It generates simple collision fine but I can’t generate complex collision. I need proper complex collision because I have a BP that detects UV position for drawing in render target.

I honestly have no idea what else to try. I tried giving it thickness, I tried using it itself as collision mesh. The convex decompostion also doesn’t do anything.

collision has 0 to do with rendering, so… what?

Pics of the mesh would probably help. Maybe the collision is present already.
