How do I Lower certain parts around my terrain to make a ocean bay going deeper and deeper? I tried using the landscape sculpting lowering shortcut by holding shift/ctrl shift it won’t lower anything, it just stays flat. I imported my heightmap with tiles for world partition. I also used terra sculptor to make my heightmap. My heightmap resolution is 8161 x 8161 for world partition. Thank you. if anyone knows or can help, I’ll be very greatful, Ive been struggling with this for days.
You can look at the height map you import. The terrain engine reads the brightness information of the height map and maps it to the Z value of the terrain. When building a terrain, some people think that the ground should be the black part near the height map, which prevents the terrain from digging down into the river. The height map has 0-255 color levels, and the terrain level should be at 127 so you have enough height map information for editing on the Z-axis.
You can correct your height map in World Machine using the Rescale node.
I actually figured it out last night. i didnt lower my contrst in terre sculptor. After I did it worked. Thank you though!
