Hi. When I import a 3d model from my 3d Application, LIGHTWAVE, it is floating above the ground level despite the fact it is aligned to the ground when it is saved from the host app. Is there anyway to correct this, or have the models align/snap to the ground? thanks
Hello ,
Thank you for posting in the community and for your question regarding the starting ground and placement of your object.
I am not sure of the distance you are referencing when importing but by default the ground is placed a little below 0,0,0 in order to represent the sidewalk or curb for a street. You can easily select the starting ground then change the Z value in the transform menu below the scene graph.
In order to move you object to the starting ground you can select the entire Container folder it is in if there are several objects. Make a container if necessary then select and hold the Gizmo in the middle yellow/orange circle to drag and snap the elements. Here is a video that might help illustrate this: https://youtu.be/6raHUGmtAJE
The Gizmo will turn all orange when pressing it:
Hope this helps and let me know if you have any follow-up questions.
Kind regards,
