[IMPORTANT] Will Epic back me up for my original projects?

I am working on a game (no code yet) that I would say is going to turn out really well, it is a really unique game that could even spark a whole new genre of games on Fortnite…

Aaand that’s where my problem is. I definitely do not want hundreds of people copying my original concept again.

Yes. I said 'again.' Here's what I mean (click to see, pretty important to my point)

I know this is going to sound wrong and really weird, but every word is completely true. And no, I am not just trying to advertise my game. Therefore, I won’t give the map code in this post.

I have a Heroes-themed game that was completely original and then it apparently inspired SypherPK (the popular streamer himself, no joke) to make TWO Heroes-themed games, which sparked the whole community with a new genre which is now ruining Discover.

Now nobody (not literally, more like up to 10 per month which does not earn anything) plays my map. Why? Because the genre was stolen from me.

Now I’m scared to publish my game at all because my game is going to get copied by hundreds of thousands of people. They are going to earn HUNDREDS of dollars of income from MY CONCEPT. I’m planning on submitting it to Epic’s Picks before advertising anywhere else to try to prevent it, but as soon as it reaches Discover before that, it’s all over for me and a new beginning for other peoples’ wallets.

And so, here’s the question. if I submit my game, will Epic Games back me up and say it’s my original project if it’s stolen by other Creators?

Can I get a response somewhat soon? I need to know this before publishing my map.

The only chance you’ll have of preventing other creators from copying your map is if your project is technically sophisticated enough that others don’t have the skills to copy it.
