No one? Is this such a stupid question? I thought there are no stupid questions in this world.
85 views and no one can even say anything to that topic?
Shall I rise a middle finger, so that tension comes up to use the keyboard?
I could plan to take over the world here in detail and no one would give a f… !
What a great community!
-.-
Hi hello. I must say I have a very similar one and there doesn’t seem to be many reples coming in this forum. In the SKU forum it rains replies within an hour or two to any questions.
You are asking for 10K haha. I have a 1.4GB model in SU that has over 5000 groups and I still don’t have a reply to a very similar question. DO I keep all the groups or do I explode everything? etc.
AND datasmith seems to be everyone’s recommendation but it doesn’t work with 2019 Sketchup so ONLY fbx is an option. I just don’t know why UE thinks that everyone has the $ to always use the latest SU versions that work with Datasmith.
I pray someone there will look back and save us poor to make it work.
Good luck to you, there are NO stupid questions. I am 55+ and have plenty !
Hello!
Sorry for my angry behavior in my previous posts and of course the late reply.
However, fact is that Unreal is todays the best solution when it comes to real-time visualizations and/or games.
But it destroys the FBX sub-object structure and simply cannot preserve it when bulk importing. And bulk import works only for a specific folder. But you can’t drag and drop a whole folder hierarchy (who drags such massive structure?!).
And its destroying the sub-object structure and also the naming of the sub-objects by throwing everything into a single folder makes neither migration nor import of a complex object possible. Possible yes, but under what conditions?!
It’s a shame. The world’s next generation technology with a primitive import module. Only crumb-eaters have a chance to work with it. Migrating large projects from another software is simply a job for psychos, or you have the money for twenty people to pay them to do it piece by piece.
I gave up on Unreal because it’s unreal to use.
