Hi,
I want to import a 3d model which I created in *****************. I export it from ************ as an obj file and try to import the model to RC but the button ‘Import Model’ is not selectable. Does anyone know what I should do?
Hi,
thanks for the advice but unfortunately this is not solving my problem.
I want to prepare a 3d model for a 3d print using RC. As I already metioned, I’ve already constructed a mesh in ***************** and couldn’t import the model to RC.
When I started a new project and added images, like you said, the button ‘Import model’ was selectable but I got the warning message that rcInfo file is missing and I’m not able to edit the model…well…there can’t be a rcInfo file because this model wasn’t build in RC…
Is it actually possible to edit 3d models in RC which weren’t constructed in RC or can RC just re-import models which were constructed in RC?
I got the warning message that rcInfo file is missing and I’m not able to edit the model
Are you sure, you get this kind of message? RCinfo file helps to align model with your project. So if you don’t have this file your model might not be properly aligned, but you should be able to texture it or whatever you want to do with it.

So as I said, YES it is possible.
But I don’t really get what are you trying to achieve. Do you want to texture your model, or simplify or what?
I am also interested in importing OBJ files from other software. For example, augmented reality meshes created using the 2020 Ipad Iidar. These OBJ files won’t have rcinfo files - is it possible to not just import these objects but to also georeference them inside RC to combine with other project elements?
