Hi guys, I’m literally at day one on UE5, usually I modeling in Modo, for materials using substance etc etc.
I tried to Import one on my models made in Modo and there is no textures. May someone could me help saying me how to import from modo properly the model including materials?
I -think- it’s not possible. I’ve never managed it with Blender, so…
This website explains how to do it for MODO, there seems to exist a plugin, that works similar to Datasmith:

Didn´t Blender also got a realtime import thingie? Or do they still have to use FBX as intermediate format?
If you’re exporting to UE4 as FBX then only basic materials make it through, which is typical for many 3D programs since they all do materials differently. Tools like Datasmith can do some of the material conversion work for you.
Ah, so all that fancy shader stuff don´t get through, same problem with Cinema 4D import via Datasmith
Well, at least you can try to recreate some of your shaders here in UE afterwards, but it´s probably a pain in the rear exit ^.^
If you’re using Substance materials you can still use them in UE4 you just have to re-apply them. As for other stuff if you’re doing the typical workflow with FBX then you’d import your textures separately and build your materials again in UE4 and apply them. That’s how it usually goes. Datasmith is designed to directly translate materials from a variety of 3D software and renderers to UE4 materials.
