Import into level

Good Evening,

i have made a complete map in 3dsmax and used the import into level in File in the editor… now i have it in the level, all looking good when i hit play to see how it is going it do not start with Player Start anymore? it starts with the actor i just imported into the level? i do not understand this as my game mode is set the same as it was before.

Any help on this would be great!

Steps i used…

Launched 4.12.0, I started a new project with Advanced Vehicle made a new level placed a cube in the level, made sure game mode was set to the vehicle and it drove over the cube with no problems. i made another new level and used the “import into level” button in File in the editor made sure my game mode was set to vehicle but when starting the game it still starts on the level import actor.

If i import each and every mesh i have made in my scene and add them one by one to the level, everything works fine and the vehicle drives on the track ok, it is just on the import into level when it creates an actor and im unable to change the start actor in the level.

Thank you for reading and hope someone can help

i have found out its the collisions, i found this out by trying different things 1 i exported scene from Maya LT and it done the same thing until i changed the collision to complex and it all runs fine. you just do not have this option in the “import into level” in your editor or not that i can find.

Any other way of doing this? as i do not like the idea of the whole map to be one big mesh. i like the idea of the import into level as it will do one blueprint for it but all single mesh files you can edit and change.

Just turn off the “Auto generate Collision” and either make your own collision map or have it only be created for certain objects.

You could turn the option off globally and then create an override on import with it turned on and have that applied to the meshes you want to have collision on.
Or, better yet, you just create your own collisions for each object.
