Import Instanced Static Meshes via CSV feature?

Is there a feature to import transforms of Instances of “Instanced Static Meshes” component via the editor through a CSV, JSON etc? As it stands right now, the tool is not really built for adding more than a couple of instances.

  1. Duplicating bugs out. It doesn’t seem to update the viewport until you close the BP and start again.
  2. Selecting the instanced mesh doesn’t show you which instance it is on the list and vice versa.
  3. It’s a painful process to be adding each instance manually by hand when you already have the coordinates set in an external program.

(Would be nice to have a similar feature for other tools like adding collisions to static meshes, and even the PhAT tool)

Hi, I have that functionality in rdInst on Fab - but it’s probably a bit over-kill for what you’re wanting though, here’s a link to the tutorial for the csv importing though if you’re interested.

Had to painstakingly manually do it this time. This looks like a full comprehensive suite. Maybe will check it out later. I doubt anyone is interested in incorporating this type of feature into UE anytime soon anyways.
