Import IFC format file

This question was asked in 2015 and 2017, whereas it was not possible - is there any update?

The IFC file is an open, standardised format.
I think it’s a shame that in 2024 it’s still not possible to do this…
I know that the information contained in the IFC is not necessary, but only the geometry needs to be imported…

Hey there @FF9016! I believe the Datasmith plugin can import IFC files, though specific versions as outlined in this documentation:

Though the documentation may not have been updated if the workflow has changed.

IFC has been supported by the engine since a few years (4.23).

1. UE can import IFC using Datasmith through CAD import library, so Datasmith supported file types is up to date
2. In 5.1, we replaced the internal datasmith IFC importer plugin with the one from the CAD library so the second link is not up to date anymore. will have the Doc team update that.
