I really tried hard for hours and searched the Net a lot.
I am not able to import a camera from Houdini to Unreal at all.
Thats the way I try to do it:
Create a Testcam
Animate the Cam on obj level (no Xform stuff) for 5 Frames
Place a Keyframe on every 5 Frames
File > Export > Filmbox FBX
See Screenshot for exact Settings
Import to Unreal Content Browser.
Failed to import 'C:\Users\tscho\Desktop\test1_201600_NoRoot.fbx'. Failed to create asset '/Game/Level/test1_201600_NoRoot'. Please see Output Log for details.
Import To Sequencer:
Add Master Sequence
Create new Camera from Sequencer button
Right Click on the Camera
Results in this Output:
LogMovieScene: Warning: Fbx Import: Failed to find any matching node for (RootNode).
LogMovieScene: Warning: Fbx Import: Failed to find any matching node for (cam1).
I also tried to get an animated Sphere into Unreal for parenting the Camera. I get no error Message but also no Animation (only the Object).
What is the correct Workflow to get a animated Houdini Camera to Unreal?
I would really apreciate your help
