Hello,
This is my first time using RealityCapture. I am trying to bring a model from Maya back into RC to texture it. In RealityCapture, I created a mesh from a point cloud and exported it as an FBX. I brought that mesh into Maya and reconstructed the scene from Maya’s primitives as opposed to working directly with the imported mesh because of how much noise was in the original scan. The new model is in the same location as the one I brought in from RealityCapture (I have gone through the entire process multiple times in case something shifted either in RealityCapture or in Maya), but when I try to import the new environment into RC, only part of the model is being imported and it is not the right scale, rotation, or position. Other times I have tried to import the new model, I am getting an immediate crash on my device despite attempting it multiple times.
I have tried saving the new model as an FBX as well as an OBJ, but both have the same problem when imported back into RC. When exporting the model from Maya, I renamed it to have the same name as the original FBX that I exported from RealityCapture and placed it in the same folder as the rcInfo file. The rcInfo file is named the same as well.
Does anyone know what the issue is and how to resolve it? Is it not possible to bring in a new model that was created in a separate software?
Please let me know what would be best to do next because I really need to get this environment textured as soon as possible.
Thanks everyone!
