Hy everyone, as you know i love Historic environments, so I’m going to work now on an imperial Japanese pagoda . i have been inspired by “shogun” latest tv serie, and also by “for honor” and “The ghost of Tsushima” environments.
So here is my first layout idea, inspiration moodboards, look and feel ideas and my modular plan of how i will be working the next months to achive this new environment, hope you like it.
Hy everyone, this week I’m working in modeling some of my modular elements, i started with the floor, railing, bridge and roof blocking, sothat i can have a better perspective of all the measures of the walls, im also studing a lot of asian arquitecture for my next step that is going to be pillars and walls and roof details
Hey there @MARKIMIDEZ,
Hope you’re well and having a great week so far
I genuinely can’t wait to see more of this project. The inspiration and models are looking brilliant so far. The design on the bridge alone is breathtaking. Really interesting to see it all come together. Sending you all the bug-free creative development hours. Happy developing until next time!
HY, EVERYONE, THIS WEEK I HAVE BEEN WORKING IN MORE 3D MODULAR ELEMENTS AND STILL STUDYING MORE ASIATIC ARQUITECTURE, SO I HAVE BEEN MIXING DETAILS OF CHINA AND JAPAN ORNAMENTS SOTHAT I CAN ACHIEVE MY OWN ASIAN DESIGN REPRESENTING ASIAN CULTURE, I DID SOME CEILING ORNAMENTS, COLUMNS, FENCE AND TOWER 3D MODEL AND VARIATIONS IN MAYA, HOPE YOU LIKE IT SO FAR.
AND HERE IS HOW ALL THE ELEMENTS ARE APLYED IN THE LAYOUT AND HOW IT IS LOOKING IN UNREAL ENGINE, MY NEXT STEP ARE THE PAGODA WALL AND CEILING AND FIRST PROP ELEMENTS
hi everyone, this week i have been making geometry optimization and some uvs correction on the elements that i showed last week, also been workin on the pagoda walls and variations, lamps and roof details, almost finishing my modular arquitechture elements, aplying first textures on the floor and plain color on the walls (for future vertex paiting) sothat i can work my first lighting draft.
here are some more views and my reference of whAt im trying to achieve, hope you like it now i will be working on my hero asset
HY EVERYONE, THIS WEEK I FINISHED ALL ARQUITECTURAL ELEMENTS, THE LAST ELEMENT WAS THE GATE, SOME ROOF DETAILS, THE FLOOR LAMPS, AND SOME PLATFORMS FOR MY HERO ASSET, ALSO APPLYIED BASIC MATERIALS SOTHAT I COULD SEE HOW LIGHTING WAS GOING , AND ALSO TO EVALUATE COLOR BALANCE IN MATERIALS, HOPE YOU LIKE IT
Hi everyone, this week i focused on my hero asset which is a taiko drum placed as a ceremonial element in the middle of the water garden platform , i made 3d modeling in maya and textures in substance painter. Made also some floor lamps for the drum setting (ed model and textures)
Also i made some general set dressing with some paper lamps (3d model and texture), flags (3d model and texture) and finished texture of stone lamps. and finally put water texture in the garden with some water lilies and did some lighting correction, lighting its not finished yet but its coming closer to what im looking for, hope you like my week achievement.
Hello @MARKIMIDEZ !
After catching up with your progress, I am thoroughly impressed with how far it has come!
I truly like the finer details you put such care into and the texture work truly helps the environment come together. The lighting is also wonderful as well! With this warm tone to everything. Is each light we see its own source?
thanks for your feedback, yes i have emissive and spot lights in each lamp, besides all the environment and atmospheric lighting
Hy everyone, this week i worked in all the texture character, so i did some vertex painting in the floor and for the rest of the arquitectural elements i made some rgb masks in substance painter , which i used to give more storytelling to the textures in unreal materials. I also did some set dressing, put some leaves folliage, environment light correction wich i will be working more and some particles to achieve some leaves falling, envuironment dust and some fireflys in the lamps that are in the platform with the drum, hope you like how it is going.
Hy everyone, this week i worked on the lighting, because it looked plain on my last post, so I changed it to a night scene, i also worked in my camera parameters so that i could achieve depth of field , and more storytelling in my shots, i also made a cinematic of my final environment, hope you like it
Hello again @MARKIMIDEZ !
This is coming along beautifully! How did you get the texture on the drum to look so realistic and used? Mind you, it doesn’t look old or bad. I personally really appreciate seeing the items looking more natural and like they’ve been in use for some time so the environment feels lived in.
here my process
