Image Alignement problem

Hello everyone!

I purchased RC two days ago and it is awesome. It worked very well at first.
With a setup of around 200 cameras I was able to get very good results reconstructing a full body with the defaults setups and just “adding the images, aligning the images, setting an automatic reconstruction region, then reconstructing with normal details and texturing”

It worked well with around 10 scans with the same configuration of cameras.

Sudenly RC started to do this when I tried to align the images.

I re-align the image and it add some cameras but not enough.

Does anyone have an idea what happened? It does this for all my new series of photos and with the old (from yesterday) who worked fine at first.

I thought I changed some settings by mistakes so I tried reseting the default settings but It still does this.

Thank you

Hi Karim Toubal
Set the settings like here:

Is your scanner a fixed one or do you change cameras every time you scan a person ?

Hello,

Thank you for the fast answer. I forgot to mention that I already tried those settings thanks to another topic and it doesn’t change anything.

It is a fix setup of cameras. They are all named and oriented the same all the time.

I find it weird that it sudenly stoped working even if I haven’t changed anything.

Is there a special way to name the cameras that would help?

Hi Karim Toubal
If you have a fixed setup, then it is possible to reuse the GOOD alignment so that you always get good results ( if you do NOT change camera positions and orientation )
I am preparing a complete workflow for this…

What do you mean by “GOOD alignement”? The defaults settings?

Hi Karim Toubal
No, under a good alignment I mean a proper workflow to get it done, so that it is set on good data that are properly aligned and then, with the help of (metadata-XMP) transfer, the good alignment to the bad working data…
Do you have a good dataset where all cameras are aligned and NO camera changes have been done to the scanner setup ?

Yes I have one good scene and I exported the xml data. How can I import them in another scene?

Ok I have found the answer in another topic and it seems to work. Thanks for your patience and your explanations
