I'm stuck on Lumen reflections and can not change to Screen Space

Hi Forum

To improve reflection quality, I have set the Project Settings > Engine > Rendering settings to Lumen. I get nothing but the default white-sky-black-ground silhouette in reflections.

So I experimented with reflections captures, which work perfectly for still images, and are horrible for dolly shots in a video. Reflection captures are impractical for long-distance shots. Near the window, the reflection is out of proportion and near the camera the reflection is completely wrong. I don’t understand what the hype is about reflection captures, because I can’t get more than 1 to render reflections. I have a very long building, and the reflection stays the same for the entire 50 meter building.

Planar Reflection is the answer, indeed the preview shows what I want, if only I can get it to work, that would be great. Project settings have planar stuff set. The planar is right in front of the window, and it doesn’t work in sequencer. Planar in the middle of the glass, it doesn’t work, nor behind the glass. I have all Lumen and Ray Tracing reflections enabled, and nothing helps for the Planar Reflection. My glass panes are 5mm, or 0.5cm, thick, with a Simple Glass material. Even when I make the material opaque, planar doesn’t work.

Finally, I gave up on these things that just refuse to work, and want to revert back to Screen Space for reflections. At least that works similarly to Planar. In the Project Settings > Engine > Rendering the Global Illumination is stuck on Lumen!!! I can not change anything away from Lumen anymore. The same with PostProcessVolume, Camera Settins… Everywhere I am stuck with Lumen and it’s stupid white-black silhouette.

If I can’t get Planar to work, then I need to know how to enable the drop-down boxes to change all my elections away from Lumen.

Please help

I also had this issue, this was caused because: Forward shading was turned on in project settings. Turning it off enabled the option to change from lumen to the other tipes of GI also this enabled reflection method to change it to screen space reflection.
