My projects mostly include assets from marketplace or other locations. Is there a similar place to buy artwork for menus, UI elements, etc? I know there are a lot of artwork and pbotography sites but not much luck with game related stuff. Appreciate any feedback!

Yes thats helpful. I cant find a lot of just good artwork tho. Im thinking like a medieval battle scene or even just like a good forest background image. This looks definitely helpful for UI tho! Ive been to art station before but wasnt very impressed by it but it looks like there are some better options these days so thank you!

Ok, for 2D stuff, there’s a lot of AI rubbish on the Epic market at the moment. Is that the kind of thing you mean?

Hello again! Yes this is the kinda stuff im looking for. So question about AI rubbish. I see lots of stuff on the marketplace where people are commenting on assets saying it was made with AI. Whats wrong with AI? Could i just generate my own AI art for use in my projects since it seem people are clearly profiting from it on the marketplace? Sorry if that question seems ignorant but i honestly just dont understand the things i read about using AI generated art.

There’s a few problems with AI. I really don’t think it matters here, it’s just my opinion.

  1. It all looks the same ( at the moment ).

  2. It’s quite possibly litigious. It’s basically a mishmash of human artwork.

  3. When you get up close, the detail that seemed to be there, just isn’t there. Very often, it’s quite a mess ( hands, eyes, structures don’t look right ).

the only part that would worry me is the potential legal issues. so what do you think is the potential blowback if i were to buy something on the marketplace that someone created using AI? i ask because if i get something AI from the marketplace, would i even be liable for any potential damages?

We are talking hypothetically here…

In fact, the person who made the marketplace asset has no rights at all, but the original art creator does. And if they can show what you’re doing is monetizing their art, then there might be a problem.

For that to happen, though, you need two factors

  1. The AI accidentally makes something that is only obviously drawing from one artwork

  2. You have a million seller on your hands

You can probably afford a good lawyer then, anyway :slight_smile:
