Im looking to make a moon game.

Im new to unreal engine 4. Im wanting to make a game set on the moon, but having trouble thinking of how to make it so you can exit an airlock, and have limited oxygen. Im thinking that maybe a Switch in the Airlock, could trigger a player action based on how the switch is pulled. Like up mean Inside Base (pro-oxygen), and down means Outside of Base (anti-oxygen). If there is a way to make a switch trigger that sort of reaction in the players code or whatever, please explain/show/send me a tutorial. Thanks!
