This seems like it was a common bug with this starter game, so no worries!
It seems a common fix was uninstalling Preview 1 and downloading Preview 2.

How do I cancel the installation? Is there an explanation?

I don’t know the explanation specifically, but the most common fix I saw was with the UE5 Preview 1 files.

You should also be able to handle installations from the Epic Games Launcher!
