IKTwoBone causes limb to be twisted

When trying to follow a tutorial on how to create a control rig in UE5 using a marketplace asset, the usage of IKTwoBone keeps twisting the limbs in itself.

The rigging as such works, but the legs/limbs are twisted as if someone tried to screw them in/off. The feet themselves stay correctly oriented.

I tried it multiple times, but the was not able to resolve the issue. Does anyone have an idea where to look for the potential cause of this behavior?

I need help with this too. I wonder if it has something to do with the control transform offset, but no matter what I try the issue persists.

I had a similar issue and it turned out to be from the original export of the 3D model I had set the forward axis to y instead of x so it made the legs twist up with IKTwoBone. I made the primary and secondary axis in the IKTwoBone to -1,0,0. Below is the thread.
