IK

Hey how’s everyone, hope things are good!? So here’s the thing, I recently added a rifle(via righthand socket >righthand, in the Idle-rifle pose)


to a character holding the barrel via lefthand IK>gun skeleton )

and it turned out fine, but when I (Walk forward rifle> or Jump forward)the lefthand IK detaches from the barrel.

Do I have to create another set of Ik also using and , simultaneously, or is there another way to add onto my current workings? Any good advice is appreciated! Thank a ton!

Attach and use left hand.

IK and move right hand in place.

I’m not sure what u meant, is it to attach a socket to the left hand and IK the right hand instead?!

I’m super new to UE4 but it wouldn’t hurt to try all these cool concepts. I read the post you suggested just not sure how to make a Custom weapon class, but I have created a
Custom montage before though. I also would like to try the IK grip function part together with the virtual bones, vector poles and the copy nodes but have no clue where to start. But I’ll put the work in and seek out any info I find on them for the time being. Thanks 4 ur time

Correct. on rifles or anything the hand that’s further out is the one you want to attach the weapon to, since the trigger hand is always closer to the character.

Ok I wìll work on it this way then take a shot at multiple types of weapons. Thank u
